Chemlink group branding

Hand in hand with the client

CLIENT:
Chemlink Group Of Companies

PROJECT:
Chemlink Group branding

BRIEF:

Design and develop a consistent house style for Chemlink Specialities Ltd and its ensuing subsidiaries.

BACKGROUND:

Chemlink is a successful UK chemicals distributor with a formulation led approach.

Starting business in small rented premises (near to Manchester Uniteds practice ground) they grew and grew, under the guidance of their then innovative managing director Peter Minister, to the stage where they are now a multi-million pound business.

In 1998 the MD, Peter Minister, because of a recommendation, approached Creative Consortium to design the outer packaging for a revolutionary water-soluble chemical dosage system that could be used in a multitude of applications, from washing clothes to household detergents to car shampoos in both retail and service markets.

Chemlink were so happy with the results they subsequently commissioned Creative Consortium to design branding for the new subsidiary company that would handle the sale and marketing of the products.

One could say that it was the start of a beautiful relationship – 20 years later Creative Consortium still closely works with Chemlink on a variety of projects including literature, packaging and exhibitions.

Solution:

The answer to the packaging of the Solupak Magibags products was not as straightforward as it seemed, the outers had to be airtight and resealable. The packaging also had to be able to convey the revolutionary (at the time) aspects of the product in a way that quick and easy to understand.

Creative consortium created a design that fulfilled the brief, but also included necessary on shelf POS in the form of pack outers that doubled as informative sales aids.

Results:
Solupak and its products went from strength to strength, diversifying its product range and involving Creative Consortium in every aspect of design and promotion.
